Man charged with aggravated assault in Mill Street incident

CHESTERVILLE — A North Dundas man and a 17-year-old male youth face charges in connection with an alleged June 21 assault on another man.

The SD&G OPP say that Dustin McFaul, 20, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault a day after an altercation on Mill Street that pitted two males against the victim. He was released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Morrisburg on Aug. 1.    

Officers responded to the scene shortly before 7 p.m., initially arresting an unidentified 17-year-old male. The teen has been charged with Uttering Threats (2 counts); Causing a disturbance; and Fail to Comply Sentence (3 counts – Youth Criminal Justice Act, YCJA). He was held in custody pending an appearance  at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall.

Further investigation revealed the involvement of the second, older accused, according to police.

Mischief

SOUTH DUNDAS — A dispute between neighbours on Sir James Morris Drive escalated to alleged threats, mischief and consequent charges against a South Dundas man.

SD&G OPP officers responded June 22 to a residence on the street at just after 1 a.m., site of an altercation between two adult male neighbours. One of the men caused damage to his neighbour’s property and threatened him, according to police, who say that Dillon Shaver, 24, of Morrisburg, was arrested and charged with Mischief and Uttering Threats.

The accused was held in custody and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall.

Break-in

NORTH STORMONT — A County Rd. 22 barn was forcibly entered and various tools removed, sometime overnight on June 21-22.

SD&G OPP officers were called to the scene the following morning. An investigation continues.
