CDSBEO and UCDSB partner with Public Health Officials to promote community awareness in response to Fentanyl crisis

Sessions scheduled May 11 at St. Thomas Aquinas High, May 16 at North Dundas District High School

CHESTERVILLE, RUSSELLThe Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario, the Upper Canada District School Board, and area health units continue their series of public meetings to promote community awareness about the deadly Fentanyl crisis.

Fentanyl is a powerful synthetic prescription opioid that has been linked to a growing number of overdoses and overdose deaths across Canada.

Remaining sessions include:

Thursday, May 11, 7-8 p.m. — St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic High School, 1211 South Russell Rd., Russell;

Tuesday, May 16, 7-8 p.m. — North Dundas District High School, 2835 Country Rd. 43, Chesterville;

• Thursday, May 18, 6-7 p.m. (French), 7:30-8:30 p.m. (English) — Rockland District High School, 1004 St. Joseph St.

The meetings will offer an opportunity for students and parents to learn about counterfeit drugs, overdose response and prevention.
