MAPLE RIDGE — Zoë Ravera clutches a lamb while helping out at the Good Friday Family Fun Day at Maple Ridge Centre. The young animal was among those featured by Vanderlaand The Barnyard Zoo.

The owners reported more than 500 visitors turned out for the event, including city residents drawn to the Ridge from the urban environs of Ottawa. Youngsters also enjoyed the air bounce attractions and Easter egg hunt.

The next big family fun day is set for Victoria Day, May 22, at the Centre.

The petting zoo ranged from lambs, sheep, rabbits, chickens, ponies and … goats. Zandbergen photo, Nation Valley News
