Dylan Roberts on the skins for Brock Zeman at McCloskey’s this Saturday

CHESTERVILLE — In a village that produced Buffalo Springfield drummer Dewey Martin, another band anchored by a Chesterville percussionist is set to play at McCloskey’s this Saturday night.

Drummer Dylan Roberts will back Carleton Place singer-songwriter Brock Zeman in his Feb. 4 appearance at the 22 Victoria Street establishment. With a voice evoking Steve Earle and Tom Waits, Zeman has churned out 11 albums.

The featured artist will also be accompanied at the Chesterville gig by his regular guitarist, Ottawa-area session musician Blair Hogan.

The crew’s local stop is but one date in yet another “relentless” tour for Zeman. Their next show will put Zeman et al onstage Feb. 15 at the Folk Alliance International Conference in Kansas City, Missouri.

Skip a trip to KC and catch them in North Dundas instead. Doors open at 7 p.m.
