Food drive concluded last week; Halloween O’Grams upcoming next week

The food drive came to a close on Friday, Oct. 14. We collected 1,045 lbs of non-perishable food items; thank you to everyone who brought something in. (Farm Credit Canada picked up a load of items at the school on Oct. 13. See a related photo from the FCC Food Drive below.)

Jr. and Sr. Boys volleyball tournament took place on Mon., Oct. 17. Students had the chance to buy out to watch the game for $2 last week. Students from Grades 9-12 who bought out will be watching the Sr. Boys play at the 9 a.m. game, and students from Grades 7 and 8 will be watching the game at 1 p.m.

Also, the weight room afterschool program started Monday, Oct. 17, for secondary students and will also take place today (Wednesday, Oct. 19) and tomorrow (Thursday, Oct. 20). Students who wish to participate in this afterschool program can look forward to using all of the equipment in the weight room for free after school, Mondays through Thursdays.

On Tuesday, Oct. 18, girls’ basketball games are slated to take place at NDDHS. The Jr. girls team play at 1 p.m. and the Sr. girls team play at 2:30 p.m.

Auditions started yesterday for this year’s play, Tuesday, Oct. 18, for intermediate actors and will also take place today (Wednesday, Oct. 19) and Friday, Oct 21 at 10:30 a.m. in Mrs. Deighton’s room.

Tickets for the 7/8 Halloween dance that is taking place on Thursday, Oct 27 from 6 until 8:30 p.m. in the gym will be on sale from Wednesday, Oct. 19 until Monday, Oct. 24 during the intermediate lunch period. Tickets are $5.

The GLOW dance will be taking place on Thursday, Nov. 3, from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. for students in Frades 9-12. The tickets are $10 and must be purchase in advance because there will be no tickets being sold at the door.

The online literacy test (OSSLT) is set for Thursday, Oct. 20. Secondary Parent Teacher Interviews also take place that day from 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm in the school gym.  

Halloween O’Grams go on sale on Monday, Oct. 24 until Thurs., Oct. 27 for $2. Students can purchase these O’Grams to send to friends and they will be handed out on Mon., Oct. 31.
